MAVENCLAD has a convenient dosing schedule. It's time to consider an MS treatment that's not an infusion, not an injection, and not a daily pill taken every day of the year.
MAVENCLAD is the first and only short-course oral therapy with no more than 10 treatment days a year over 2 years.
Each treatment week (also known as a cycle), taken about a month apart, consists of 1 or 2 MAVENCLAD pills a day for 4 or 5 days in a row—dosing depends on your weight. Screening and monitoring should be performed before, during, and after treatment.
MAVENCLAD will continue to treat your MS over the 2 treatment years–even when you’re not actively taking it. That's 355 MAVENCLAD dosing-free days a year. Your healthcare provider will continue to monitor your health during the 2 yearly treatment courses, as well as between treatment courses and for at least another 2 years, during which you do not need to take MAVENCLAD.
Your healthcare provider may delay or completely stop treatment with MAVENCLAD if you have severe side effects. It is not known if it is safe and effective for people to restart MAVENCLAD after the full 4-year period.
MAVENCLAD comes in a box that will include either 4 or 5 day packs. Each day pack will contain 1 pill or 2 pills. The exact number of MAVENCLAD pills you receive will be based on your weight. It’s important to follow your healthcare provider's instructions regarding your MAVENCLAD treatment plan.
The day packs should be kept in the original packaging and out of children's reach. You'll also get instructions for how many pills to take each day.
You should limit skin contact with the MAVENCLAD pills and wash hands and surfaces exposed to the pills. MAVENCLAD should be taken at least 3 hours apart from other medicines.
Whether it’s a home visit, a phone call, or reminders to help track your dosing, MS LifeLines Nurses can support you through your treatment journey.
